Obituary | On March 10, 2015, died Laurent Lamy, who was president of AICA-Canada (1967–1976). He became an AICA-Canada member in 1959, at the invitation of Donald William Buchanum. After the accidental death of Rodolphe de Repentigny, the Association second President, who died in a climbing accident in the Rockies, the acting president was looking for a francophone art critic to replace De Repentigny in the association, then predominantly anglophone. Laurent Lamy quickly occupied an important place in the young association. He helped recruit several other French-speaking AICA-Canada members. Laurent Lamy was elected President of AICA-Canada in 1967. As President of the host section, he chaired the extraordinary international congress of AICA which took place from Montreal to Vancouver in 1970.
