Mission | The International Association of Art Critics – Canada is a group of professional Canadian art critics involved in interpretation, diffusion and noncommercial promotion of visual and media arts.
The association serves to promote, in Canada, the understanding and the critical appreciation of modern and contemporary arts in the diversity of their historical characteristic and their events, to analyze the economic, political and social forces that shape visual. It aims to promote art criticism in Canada and contribute to ensuring its methodological foundations.
AICA – Canada actively developing national and international cooperation in art critic and visual arts fields in the country. It also seeks to defend freedom of expression and thought, to fight against the arbitrariness of censorship which are the first goal of international founders of AICA.
The association promotes and protects the ethical and professional interests of art critics in Canada by supporting the actions of his colleagues on the international scene, and by defending the common rights of all its members.
